Off-grid Photovoltaic Systems
Off-grid photovoltaic systems are not connected to the national energy grid and operate only with batteries, being composed of photovoltaic panels, off-grid inverters, batteries and secondary equipment.
The electricity produced by the photovoltaic panels covers the self consumption and the charging of the batteries. During periods when the photovoltaic panels do not produce enough electricity to cover the self consumption, it is consumed from the batteries, and when the energy stored in the batteries has reached a low preset level, the system can command the start of an electric generator to take over the consumption and charge the batteries.
The installation of an off-grid photovoltaic system offers customers the opportunity to benefit from electricity in locations where the national grid does not have coverage or for mobile homes such as motorhomes, caravans, converted vans, etc., or simply where connection to the national grid is not desired.
